No Cost Registrations NATS

Want to offer your members a free option? NATS gives admins the option to set up a no cost registration (NCR). A member choosing an NCR option will not see a biller and will create a membership through NATS, allowing admins to authenticate off of the NATS database for these free memberships.

To make an NCR available for your members admins first would set up a new Join Option in their sites admin. In the NATS sites admin, the third action icon (add icon) will show the available join options. At the bottom of the page, below the "Add New Join Option" section there is a section labled "Add New No Cost Registration Option". Options for an NCR include setting a registration period, the join form text, whether to disallow members who have signed up for this option from signing up again, whether the option is hidden from the join form, and whether this option will be available for all tours. Note that setting the "Registration Period" to 0 will set the member to be active indefinitely. Also note that if the "Active for all Tours" option is not set, Rules will need to be set for this new option. Rules denote when this NCR option will be available for use on a NATS join page.

Once the join option is set up, admins would need to set the "Re-Use Active Usernames" option in the edit site details page. This allows members who signed up to an NCR to upgrade to a full membership option. Once set, admins can link to the original member through the NATS join page, pre-populating the username and email. This will ensure the original member will retain their details in the upgrade to a full membership.

Additional features for No Cost Registrations include their own column in the statistics page, separate emails sent out on these memberships, a postback url, and the option to payout affiliates per no cost registration. For additional details in regards to setting up and using NCRs, please visit our wiki article page here.

NCR Verify Email

Do you need added verification for your No Cost Registrations (NCR) in NATS? A new NATS feature will allow program owners to restrict access for their free members until they have clicked on a verification link sent to them by an e-mail. This allows program owners to ensure that those signing up for free accounts are valid users with access to the email provided.

Once configurations have been turned on, the Email Verification Required setting would be available

In order to turn on the email verification for NCR options, you would go to your "Surfer" configuration admin and turn on the option labeled "ENABLE_NCR_EMAIL_VERIFICATION". With this option enabled, a new setting would be available for each of your NCR join options labeled "Email Verification Required". Once this NCR setting is turned on for a join option, any new member selecting that option will receive an email containing a verification link. If the surfer does not click this verification link before it expires, the member will not have access.

For further details in regards to this feature as well as other available settings, please refer to our on-line documentation here.

Add Bad Emails to Remove list

NATS now allows you to add emails directly from the Mailing queue into the Removal lists. This will allow program owners to quickly mark invalid or failed email addresses to not receive mailing from NATS in the future.

Admins can now add Email addresses to remove lists from failed email attempts

When in the Mailing Admin, you would click on the tab labeled "Mailing Queue". This will take you to the list of emails that are either preparing to be sent out from NATS or have fallen into an error and will not be sent out and include the error itself. On the left hand side of the mailing list there will be a check box which can be used with the mass action dropdown available at the bottom of the list. This dropdown action now contains the option "Add to Remove Lists" which, once "Perform Action" is clicked, will add the emails of the checked messages to your remove lists.

For further information in regards to the removes lists and the Mailing queue list visit our online documentation here.

Partial Member CSV Dump NATS

NATS allows for a comma-separated dump of specific fields in the NATS database, known as a "Partial CSV Dump". Using this feature, Admins have the ability to retrieve only the fields that they want when searching members.

Partial CSV Dump allows you to select the fields you want

To use this feature, first click on the "Advanced Form" link on the upper right-hand side of the search box in the Members Admin. This page will allow Admins to search members who meet specific criteria. Once the search criteria is set, click on the "Partial CSV Dump" button at the bottom of the page to display the field options for the Partial CSV Dump. Once the fields have been selected, click the "Partial CSV Dump" button again to retrieve the fields requested for the members.

The results of the search and "Partial CSV Dump" will be displayed in a text box below the search table in the Members Admin. Note that any date or time which would be displayed in the "Partial CSV Dump" would be in the format of a Unix timestamp.
